If you stay in the Netherlands for more than 4 months, you will need to register in the municipality where you live. Most people rent a house or a room. You can rent it via a housing corporation or from a private individual. The latter option goes much faster and is therefore much more common.
Everyone who lives or works in the Netherlands must take out a basic health care insurance (basic package). The government determines what is included in this basic package. This is the necessary medical care to which everyone is entitled. In addition, you can take out additional insurance, such as extra reimbursement for treatment at the dentist. You can choose your own health insurance company. The basic insurance package is always the same (the premium is not), the content and costs of additional insurances may differ at different insurers. You choose which one suits you best. If you live or work temporarily in the Netherlands, you can also take out health insurance with Zorg en Zekerheid via us. In that case the premium will be deducted from your wage and you will see this on your payslip. Please note: this is a health insurance scheme for labour migrants and is also meant for this group. If you are registered in the Netherlands, you will have to take out health insurance yourself. Of course you can also contact us for more information and help.
